Raptors Grind Past Cavaliers 93-89: Series Tied 2-2 Heading to Cleveland

After their explosive 126-104 Game 3 victory, the Toronto Raptors showed a completely different dimension in Game 4, grinding out a tough 93-89 defensive victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers at Scotiabank Arena on Sunday to level the series at 2-2.

Defence Wins the Day

This was a masterclass in defensive intensity from Toronto. The Raptors held Cleveland to just 37 per cent shooting from the field and a miserable 25 per cent from three-point range. Every Cavaliers possession felt contested, with Toronto's switching defence making it impossible for Cleveland to find clean looks. The 89 points were the Cavaliers' lowest total of the series.

Barnes and Barrett Again

Scottie Barnes continued his outstanding playoff form with 22 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists, while RJ Barrett added 20 points and locked down Donovan Mitchell defensively. The pair have been Toronto's driving force throughout the series, combining for over 40 points in every game. Barnes made the play of the night with a chase-down block on Darius Garland in the fourth quarter that swung momentum decisively.

Mitchell Struggles Continue

Donovan Mitchell has now scored 15 points or fewer in consecutive games after lighting up the first two contests. The All-Star guard shot 5-of-18 from the field and committed four turnovers, struggling against Barrett's length and Toronto's help defence. James Harden was more productive with 21 points but his four turnovers and passive stretches hurt Cleveland at crucial moments.

The Raptors have proven they can win both ways — through offensive firepower in Game 3 and defensive grit in Game 4.
