Premier League Title Race: Arsenal and Manchester City Battle for the Crown

The 2025-26 Premier League title race has come down to two teams. With five matches remaining, Arsenal lead the table on 70 points from 33 matches, while Manchester City sit three points behind on 67 with a game in hand. The margins are razor-thin, and every match from here could prove decisive.

Arsenal's title charge has been built on defensive solidity and consistency. Under Mikel Arteta, the Gunners have established themselves as genuine title contenders for the third consecutive season. Their home form has been particularly impressive, and with key fixtures remaining, they control their own destiny.

Manchester City, however, have the advantage of a game in hand. Pep Guardiola's side have shown resilience throughout the campaign, and Erling Haaland continues to be the league's most potent striker with 23 goals so far this season. City know that winning their remaining matches would put immense pressure on Arsenal.

Perhaps the biggest surprise of the season is Liverpool's position. The defending champions sit fifth on 55 points — 15 behind Arsenal — in what has been a transitional campaign. Manchester United (58 points) and Aston Villa (58 points) occupy third and fourth, battling for Champions League qualification rather than the title.

For Kenyan fans, the title run-in provides unmissable viewing. Arsenal and Manchester City both have passionate followings across East Africa, and the Saturday afternoon matches at 5pm or 7:30pm EAT have become appointment viewing in bars and homes across Nairobi, Mombasa, and beyond.
